Your questions, answered with care

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

The coaching relationship starts with a discovery session, that aims to understand your context, your goals and seeks to clarify all aspects of what it feels like, to be in a coaching partnership and journey. Once you begin your actual coaching journey, you should be able to establish some clear goals with the help of your coach. Your goals can be journeying goals or micro session goals;

1)  Goals can range from work related topics like leading others effectively, managing your career, relationship with supervisor / manager, feeling stuck in a work situation
or work transitions (to name a few)
2) Life related goals may include managing emotions, going through personal
transitions, care-giving, expat life, parenting, managing relationships, life challenges
(to name a few)

What is expected of me, in a coaching relationship?

The coaching relationship is an equal partnership between the coach and the client. The expectation from the client is to be open to experiment with new
actions/behaviors, be intrinsically motivated to show up for sessions and share information vulnerably, in order to get the most of the conversations.

How is coaching different from interacting with someone in the family, a friend or a mentor at work?

Coaching is a personalized and non-judgemental conversation with a person who is not emotionally invested in the outcomes of the coaching journey, which is different from speaking to those known to you, who are emotionally invested in some form. The coach is trained to help the client work through their situations to emerge empowered to achieve their goals.

How Is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching and therapy are distinct modalities that do not replace one another. Coaching focuses on equipping the client to move towards the future feeling empowered, enabled, and resourced in their present situation, challenges and goals. Coaching relies on client’s intrinsic motivation to commit to new actions and behaviors. Unlike therapy, coaching does not focus on healing methodologies.

How can I tell if my coach is a good fit, for me?

Trust and rapport are important in a coach-client partnership. The coach and client can mutually assess this during the discovery meeting. From the client’s perspective, feeling comfortable enough to be authentic and vulnerable with the coach is crucial for the effectiveness of their conversations.

Can I trust the coach with confidential and personal information? Are records kept? What happens to those records?

The coach subscribes to the professional code of ethics of the International Coaching Federation (you can download a copy here)
https://coachingfederation.org/app/uploads/2021/01/ICF-Code-of-Ethics.pdf)
1) The content of the sessions are confidential, unless in the following exceptional cases, detailed in the coach-client agreement that will be signed, prior to the start of
their association.
2) The coach makes brief notes of client sessions; which helps monitor work. The client will not be identified from these records and they are securely stored.

Do you offer coaching virtually?

I offer coaching journeys in person (within the DFW area) & virtually (globally, across time zones)

How do I pay for sessions?

You can pay for sessions using Bank transfers or through payment methods like Zelle (as applicable). All other details are provided in the coach-client agreement.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

If for some reason, the client is not satisfied with the coaching service, the client may initiate a conversation with the coach. They can mutually decide to terminate
the contract based on the terms of the agreement. Since payment terms differ based on type of contract, the refund policy is applicable as per agreed terms and contractual obligations.
